The process of procurement should not only be considered once an order has been received from a client; in order to secure an order initially a quotation must be built up which reflects the clients requirements, but importantly within budget. To ensure that your estimate is as competitive as possible material prices can be sourced for products specified within the tender documentation alongside further alternative products which could be substituted for those specified yet provide you with a commercial benefit.

Site Surveys

Site investigations can be carried out to investigate and suggest remedial action for leaking roofs, cladding systems, gutters, problematic details, to allow measurement of existing buildings for refurbishment and inspections of ongoing works.

Once an inspection has been carried out, a complete and thorough report will be produced detailing actions that, if necessary, should be carried out before any further work is undertaken, or should be considered as part of a longer term maintenance regime.

All surveys are carried out by operatives trained and certified for the use of various types of access equipment to ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and responsible manner.

Before the vast majority of orders are secured an estimate is usually produced based upon a set of drawings, specification, bills of quantity or site visit. The procedure of taking off quantities, obtaining material prices, forming the quotation is an exact, time consuming, and meticulous process which, when carried out correctly forms a solid base from which the construction process can commence.  The quotation forms an agreement between the client and contractor and should reflect the requirements laid out by the Architect, but will often combine value engineered items in order to achieve the clients budget – options which we can provide in full consultation with yourselves.

Our estimating service is carried out utilising a bespoke spreadsheet based system and completed with a clear and precise presentation listing quantities, suppliers names, even colours. Each spreadsheet can be tailored to provide an output suitable for budget analysis during the construction phase breaking down individual elements such “fixings”, “rooflights”, “composite panels”, etc providing a financial plan for the project ahead.
